Job summary

Pro-Tax Recruitment is recruiting a Client Advisory VAT Manager for a national VAT practice. You will advise on complex VAT matters, manage key client relationships, and lead engagements from planning to delivery.

You'll shape the VAT offering, collaborate with partners, and contribute to business development while coaching junior staff. This role rewards strategic thinking and clear, business-focused VAT advice within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• CTA or ATII qualification (or equivalent) and ACA/ACCA preferred.
• Strong VAT advisory and indirect tax experience with client management.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality advice on time and within budget.
• Commercial mindset with interest in business development and growth.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main contact for a portfolio of clients, building advisory relationships.
• Advising clients on VAT planning opportunities and complex queries.
• Leading client engagements from planning through to implementation, ensuring service quality, cost efficiency, and value.
• Collaborating with partners to understand clients' commercial goals and tailor VAT advice accordingly.
• Contributing to business development by identifying opportunities and supporting proposals and pitches.
• Coaching and leading junior staff, reviewing technical work including VAT returns and complex advisory outputs.
