Job summary

A South West-based food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the site’s food safety, quality and technical strategy. Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will own the Food Safety & Quality Management System and act as the technical authority on the factory floor, balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day problem solving.

You will shape the site's technical direction, support new product introductions, and lead audits with customers and third parties.

Qualifications

• Proven technical management experience in FMCG manufacturing.
• Experience with major UK retailers’ private label products.
• Lead Auditor certification – FSSC 22000.
• HACCP Level 4; Food Safety Level 4.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Strong track record of coaching and developing technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Food Safety & Quality Management System across the site.
• Lead HACCP, GMP, sanitation and pest-control initiatives.
• Manage internal and external audits and inspections; drive corrective actions.
• Shape the site’s technical strategy and support new product introductions.
