Job summary

EMBS Engineering in the North Nottingham region is seeking a skilled Technical Buyer to join the purchasing team. The role focuses on procuring materials and commodities for engineered components used in high-integrity sectors, with DBS checks required and visa sponsorship not offered.

You will manage end-to-end procurement, negotiate with suppliers, monitor stock and lead times, and work closely with engineering teams to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective solutions within budget.

Qualifications

• Engineering procurement experience with materials and services.
• Strong negotiation and cost-saving focus.
• Experience in stockist environments and supplier performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Purchase goods, materials, and commodities to meet production needs while considering price, delivery lead times and supplier penalties.
• Manage end-to-end purchasing process for engineering materials and services within budget.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to determine procurement needs and timelines.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and optimise supplier relationships.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure best value and quality standards.
• Assist in developing purchasing policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Forecast demand and monitor inventory to avoid shortages and excess.
• Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions affecting procurement.
