Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd in the Birmingham area is seeking a Buyer to join our engineering and manufacturing team to manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery of critical components. The role covers purchase orders, supplier scheduling, expediting, and working with planning, production, quality and engineering to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Buyer or similar purchasing role in manufacturing/engineering.
• Experience purchasing engineered components and machined parts.
• Strong supplier relationship management and communication skills.
• Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Excel for purchasing analytics.

Responsibilities

• Managing purchase orders and supplier schedules
• Developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships
• Expediting orders and resolving supply issues
• Monitoring supplier performance and delivery commitments
• Obtaining quotations and supporting sourcing activities
• Working with planning, production, quality and engineering
• Maintaining information within ERP/MRP systems
• Using Excel to analyse and manage purchasing data
• Supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain
