Job summary

The Farnley Academy in Leeds is seeking an enthusiastic and highly efficient Business Manager to ensure the smooth, efficient, and sustainable operation of the academy. The role supports the mission to provide the best possible educational experience for pupils.

The successful candidate will oversee the business support team including admin, finance, premises maintenance, HR and health and safety, and advise the Principal and Governing Body on non-teaching activities of the academy.

Qualifications

• Has a level 4 diploma for school business managers or other relevant Level 4 Qualification or willing to work towards.
• Has excellent ICT skills (Microsoft Office) including ability to mail merge and use databases.
• Has an understanding of HR procedures such as absence management, grievances and disciplinary procedures.
• Has the ability to communicate effectively, (in a polite, helpful and efficient manner) with a wide range of people, both face to face and over the telephone.
• Is confident, enthusiastic, flexible and responsive to change.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the business support team, including administrative support, finance, premises maintenance, human resources and health and safety.
• Advise the Principal and Governing Body (GB) on the non-teaching activities of the academy.
