Job summary

Recra Ltd, Coventry, is seeking a Sales Director to lead new business growth in precision engineering, manage a team of Business Development Managers and provide commercial insight to the board.

You will develop the sales strategy, identify new markets and applications, own the pipeline, forecast performance and protect margins while negotiating major contracts. This is a senior leadership role requiring a strong track record in engineering or manufacturing sales.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in sales leadership within precision engineering, manufacturing, or related sectors.
• Ability to discuss technical requirements with customers and present commercial performance to the board.
• Strong forecasting, pipeline management and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a sales strategy focused on profitable new business and long-term customer relationships.
• Lead, coach and manage a team of Business Development Managers, setting targets and supporting conversions.
• Identify new markets, customers and applications for the company's capabilities.
• Own the sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are qualified, progressed and forecast.
• Present sales performance, forecasts, pipeline health and risks to the board with recommendations.
• Collaborate with operations and finance on capacity, costing and delivery before committing to new work.
• Review pricing and margins to protect profitability of subcontracted work.
• Support negotiations on significant contracts and build customer relationships.
• Improve sales processes, reporting and accountability for clear performance visibility.
