Job summary

Universal-Business-Team in Reading seeks an experienced Sales Director to lead the Sales, Business Development and Estimating functions. You will own the commercial pipeline from first conversation to signed contract, securing profitable projects and building a reliable forward orderbook.

You will report to the MD, drive strategic client relationships, negotiate with main contractors and lead a weekly pipeline review to deliver growth and margins.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading sales and business development in project-based environments.
• Experience selling to main contractors and commercial clients.
• Evidence of building and sustaining an order book, not just winning contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen including pricing, margins and payment terms.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow the orderbook to align with the business plan.
• Develop strategies for target accounts and strategic clients.
• Lead Sales, Business Development and Estimating as a coordinated function.
• Maintain accurate tenders, reflect real costs and allowances in estimates.
• Provide regular reporting on pipeline movements and commercial performance.
