Job summary

Colton Hills Community School in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to champion pupil safety and wellbeing. You will lead safeguarding across the school, sitting on the Senior Leadership Team and guiding staff through safeguarding protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in an educational setting.
• Must have completed Designated Safeguarding Lead training Level 3.
• DBS check or equivalent safeguarding clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding practices across the school and ensure safeguarding is a core priority.
• Sitting as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and attending all meetings relevant to safeguarding.
• Maintain and oversee safeguarding reporting systems (e.g., MyConcern) and ensure timely escalation of concerns.
• Collaborate with external agencies and local partners to safeguard pupils and support the school’s safeguarding strategy.
