Job summary

SSE Thermal is hiring a Risk Manager to lead the Enterprise Risk Management framework and act as a strategic advisor to the Executive Committee. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify, assess and report strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, cyber and reputational risks.

Role requires building strong relationships with Executives, a strong commercial mindset and experience in energy risk management.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in risk/assurance, preferably in the Energy sector.
• Ability to rapidly build relationships with executives and lead complex risk discussions.
• Strong commercial mindset with ability to deliver pragmatic, value-adding solutions.
• Knowledge of wholesale energy market regulation and legal landscape.
• Collaborative approach across a matrix organisation to drive delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead SSE Thermal's Enterprise Risk Management framework and ensure governance outputs add value.
• Act as strategic advisor to Executives on risk management and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Thermal and Group teams to integrate risk frameworks and share insights.
• Foster a culture of inclusivity, empowerment and continuous improvement across teams.
