Job summary

BDO Aldershot-based advisory team seeks a Strategic Resource Solutions Consultant to support accounting and consultancy services for clients, acting as an extension of their finance function.

You will analyse client data, advise on trading positions and legislative changes, and collaborate with senior managers and partners to deliver value-driven solutions across strategy and improvement projects in the UK market.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or proven equivalent experience.
• Strong accounting knowledge with accounts preparation and outsourced accounting.
• Solid UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge; excellent tax awareness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and in-house packages.

Responsibilities

• Support timely delivery of accounting and consultancy services for clients.
• Work as a trusted extension of client finance teams with independence.
• Analyse client data, discuss trading positions, and relay recommendations.

You'll join our Strategic Resourcing Solutions (SRS) team, part of Business Services and Outsourcing (BSO). Working closely with our clients, you'll support the timely delivery of accounting and consultancy services. You'll work independently and take ownership of specific client projects, operating as a trusted extension of their finance team. Alongside strong accounting capabilities, you'll bring broad commercial awareness, enabling you to analyse client data, make informed recommendations and discuss key issues confidently with clients, including their current trading position, future outlook and legislative changes

Candidate Requirements

• Industry or practice qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent experience
• Solid accounting knowledge with previous experience within accounts preparation and outsourced accounting
• Good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
• Good knowledge of corporation tax, income tax, VAT, PAYE, company secretarial procedures and applications
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and use of all standard in house packages
