Job summary

PhysicsX in London is seeking a Research Program Manager to coordinate its key research initiatives—from foundation model development to methods research. You will own planning, milestones, dependencies and reporting, freeing scientists and engineers to focus on the science.

The role sits at the intersection of Research, Delivery, Product and external partners, with 2–3 days per week in the central office. You will work with the Head of Research and technical leads to turn ambitious goals into

Qualifications

• 3+ years of program management or strategic operations experience.
• Experience partnering with leaders in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to operate in ambiguous settings with structure.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• Sufficient technical literacy to engage with researchers and engineers; quantitative background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted sounding board for research leads and decisions.
• Translate high-level objectives into actionable milestones.
• Own planning and delivery cadence for research streams with milestones and owners.
• Run operating rhythms and rituals with clear agendas and follow-ups.
• Foster collaboration across Delivery, Product, Engineering, and Operations.
• Bridge between technical work and strategic direction with clear status reporting.
• Coordinate strategic research collaborations and partnerships.
• Support resourcing and capacity planning across concurrent research efforts.
• Help coordinate research outputs (papers, demos) and messaging.
• Coach individuals to enable high-performing teams.
