Job summary

Matchtech Group seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior Commercial Manager to join a rapidly growing client in Bristol, delivering on major rail and highways programmes. Qualifications

• Significant experience in quantity surveying & commercial management in rail/highways/transport.
• Strong NEC contract knowledge & practical NEC application.
• Post-award contract management including mobilisation, change control and risk management.
• Knowledge of compensation events, early warnings, programme management and payments.
• Ability to implement commercial governance, assurance frameworks & strategies.
• Experience coaching or leading commercial/contract management teams.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and continual improvement of the Contract Management Strategy.
• Develop standards, tools, templates, guidance and assurance processes.
• Manage and develop a team overseeing strategic contracts with leadership and coaching.
• Establish governance, accountability and escalation for high-value contracts.
• Lead post-award activities: mobilisation, performance reviews, risk registers, KPI tracking, close-out.
• Provide senior oversight of NEC contracts: warnings, programmes, compensation events, payments.
• Address underperformance, variations and value for money with contract owners and suppliers.
• Prepare portfolio reporting and provide commercial updates and assurances to senior leaders.
