Job summary

Galliford Try is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for the Banwell Bypass project in Somerset. You will support the Commercial Manager with project reporting and commercial administration, negotiating subcontract terms and pricing.

The role requires a relevant degree or equivalent commercial experience, with proficiency in Excel, Word and cost analysis. Stakeholder management and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field or equivalent commercial experience.
• Experience in a commercial environment or related sector.
• Understanding of construction processes and standard contract forms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare subcontract documents and negotiate prices and terms.
• Administer work packages and issue contractual notices to client/subcontractors.
• Manage changes, including compensation-event quotations; cost reporting.
• Maintain cost plan, track expenditure and forecast spending; record liabilities.
• Utilise Oracle cost analysis and engage in effective stakeholder communication.
