Job description

Galliford Try is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Bristol for the Wessex Water AMP 8 framework. The position leads commercial delivery across several projects and includes responsibility for commercial performance, governance and relationships with project stakeholders. The senior surveyor will work with the line manager on reporting and commercial administration, including cost control and changes to contracts.

Early project work includes procurement and reviewing contract requirements. The post covers negotiating subcontract documents, assessing interim amounts and administering changes. It also involves issuing contractual notices, dealing with compensation events and agreeing monthly applications with clients.

Cost-value reports, cash performance and the identification of risks and opportunities form part of the remit. The successful applicant will develop the commercial team and provide contractual advice to estimating and bid colleagues. Candidates should bring civil engineering experience and knowledge of construction processes and standard forms.

The employer seeks a record of negotiations and final-account settlements, together with commercial software skills. Appropriate CSCS status is requested; professional membership or progress towards qualification is desirable. Flexible or reduced-hours arrangements may be discussed.
