Job summary

Markey Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our family-run team in England. You will play a key role in delivering our diverse project portfolio, focusing on maximizing value, managing risk and driving commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of working in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
• Experience using cost-estimating software and commercial management tools (e.g. Causeway).
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes and cost management.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction drawings across sectors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for construction projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost control, and value engineering exercises.
• Manage procurement activities, including tender preparation, tender evaluation, contract negotiation, and contract award.
• Monitor project costs and financial performance, ensuring alignment with budgets and programme requirements.
• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
• Provide commercial and cost management advice to clients, contractors, and project teams.
• Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and project outcomes.
