Job summary

Russell Taylor Group in Ormskirk is seeking a Purchasing Manager- Pharma Manufacturing to lead a four-person team and own the purchasing strategy for an annual spend of around £10m. This hands-on, commercially driven role partners with the Operations Director and Senior Management to shape procurement across ingredients, packaging and indirect items.

You will negotiate UK and international contracts, drive cost savings, and ensure regulatory compliance with Quality Assurance.

Qualifications

• CIPS qualification is essential.
• Pharmaceutical regulated supply chain experience required.
• Proven supplier negotiation and cost-saving experience.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Confident with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing international suppliers is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a four-person Purchasing team.
• Own and deliver the purchasing strategy for around £10m annual spend.
• Drive cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
• Negotiate contracts and build UK and international supplier relations.
• Manage purchasing across ingredients, chemicals, components, packaging, and indirect items.
• Develop stock control and ordering processes.
• Identify new suppliers and alternative supply routes for NPD and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and continuous improvement.
• Manage relationships with subcontract manufacturing partners.
• Ensure records, BOMs and inventory accuracy for audits.
