Job summary

Aspire Jobs are working with an established business in the Poole area who are now looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their team. You will be part of the buying team and report to management while leading a small team.

The role requires buying large quantities in manufacturing or high-volume environments, staff management experience, and strong Excel/database skills. You will be proactive, deadline-driven, and familiar with ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Experience of purchasing large quantities within manufacturing, industrial or high-volume company.
• Experience in staff management and leading a team.
• Ability to forecast and plan material requirements.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data analysis.
• Advanced Excel and database skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive, hands-on approach and able to work to time-critical deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Report on planning, estimating, expediting and forecasting.
• Spot trends within the business to optimise purchasing.
• Negotiate prices and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues to ensure on-time delivery of products.
• Assess supplier capabilities and capacity to meet demand.
