Job summary

Aspire Jobs are supporting an established business in Poole to recruit an experienced Head of Purchasing. You will lead the buying team, manage a small team, and participate in management meetings while driving procurement strategy and supplier performance.

Ideal candidates will have large-volume manufacturing purchasing experience, ERP/MRP familiarity, and strong Excel/database skills. This role offers office-based, full-time hours and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Have previous buying or purchasing experience within manufacturing or high volume distribution.
• Have staff management experience.
• Be proactive and hands on in your approach.
• Be used to working to time critical deadlines.
• Be computer literate with the ability to forecast and material plan.
• Experience of ERP/MRP systems.
• Have strong attention to detail.
• Possess Advanced Excel and database skills.

Responsibilities

• Report on planning, estimating, expediting and forecasting.
• Be able to look and spot trends within the business.
• Source new suppliers.
• Negotiate prices and delivery schedules.
• Work closely with internal colleagues to ensure on time delivery of products.
• Understand each supplier s capability and capacities.

Aspire Jobs are working with an established business in the Poole area who are now looking for an experienced Head of Purchasing to join their team.

The role will see you working as part of the buying team and ideally you will have experience of purchasing large quantities within a manufacturing, industrial or high-volume company.

You will be part of the Management team and will be expected to report and participate in regular management meetings as well as managing a small team.
