Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is recruiting a Category Manager within the Procurement Management Team. The role leads the Place and Chief Executives department, steering procurement strategy and category plans to deliver value for money.

You will engage with senior stakeholders, manage complex tenders, and foster a high-performance team in a hybrid work setting at County Hall, West Bridgford.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex tenders in public sector procurement.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
• Ability to lead and develop a procurement team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management of a procurement category with strategic oversight of multi-million-pound spend.
• Develop and implement category plans aligned to the Procurement Strategy.
• Provide expert advice to senior stakeholders and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive cost efficiencies and continuous improvement in procurement practices.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Manage a dedicated category team to meet service standards.
