Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a Project Manager to join its Business Change team on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract. You will lead large-scale priority projects, working with senior stakeholders to ensure robust plan governance and timely delivery.

You will report into a £24 million Council Housing Acquisition and Investment Programme, shaping governance, funding tracking, stakeholder engagement and quarterly reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Project Management experience with evidence of successful delivery.
• Trained in PRINCE II and/or equivalent project management methodology.
• Knowledge of local government and transformational Government and efficiency agenda.
• Relevant change management qualification or skills (Prosci or similar).
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Manager for large scale, priority projects to meet strategic priorities.
• Build strong relationships quickly and identify dependencies.
• Follow the Business Change Framework methodology and ways of working.
• Administer and manage the project process and service project meetings.
• Produce clear project plans and delivery timescales.
• Identify key outputs and milestones for decision.
• Report to governance forums and monitor actions.
• Manage risks, issues and tracking of costs/benefits.
