Job summary

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure in the Manchester/Preston area is seeking a Project Director to lead multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring delivery on time, cost and quality with strong strategic planning and leadership support.

You will drive risk/VE processes, communicate clear imperatives, and manage safety, environment and quality across all activities. Leadership of internal staff and external contractors is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience of large scale project management.
• Experience on projects covering multiple site construction works and the integration of several technical disciplines.
• Self-driven, results-orientated with a positive outlook.
• Good management skills, with the ability to motivate employees to achieve high standards of compliance.
• Excellent organisational skills, planning and time management; able to manage priorities without compromising standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the successful delivery of projects to scope, target cost, quality, programme and completion encompassing design, engineering, construction, handover and commercial aspects ensuring Perfect Delivery is achieved.
• Implement a full risk and value engineering management process where all risks and cost savings opportunities are identified and actioned.
• Ensure that project imperatives are clearly communicated and understood throughout the project and to others, as appropriate.
• Provide direction, motivation and leadership to internal staff and external consultants or contractors.
• Responsible for safety, health, environment and quality matters including driving excellence and continuous improvement.
• Advise the project management team on project planning activities and initiatives and present recommendations and status updates to customers and stakeholders.
• Prepare financial spreadsheets, summarise information and communicate results to key customers and stakeholders.
• Lead, review and challenge project budgets and forecast to ensure a deliverable approach.
• Develop and manage key customer relationships through regular reviews of contract performance.
• Proactively deliver a quality installation to the satisfaction of our customers.
• Ensure compliance with policies and statutory and legal requirements and manage risks and opportunities.
