Role Definition
  • As a Strategic Project consultant you will coordinate the management of multiple, related high-priority and/or high-risk projects where the project's scope is aligned with key strategic initiatives. Lead project teams to deliver complex business, integration, implementation projects, and continuous improvement/lean efforts.
  • Responsibilities

  • Apply program and project management principles to manage scope, timeline, resources, stakeholders, and risk throughout the lifecycle of strategic initiatives.
  • Lead high-priority projects to achieve measurable business process improvements.
  • Providing technical training and guidance for continuous improvement on the planning, development and implementation of process improvement.
  • Utilize facilitation and consultancy skills to assist leaders in identifying growth opportunities and planning strategically.
  • What Skills You Will Have:

    Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
    Level Extensive Experience:

    • Seeks discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information; explains variances.
    • Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation.
    • Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research.
    • Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks, and chances for success before recommending a course of action.

    Level Extensive Experience:

    • Discusses organizational culture around providing input on decisions.

    Process Improvement: Understanding and insight into evaluating current product quality and production methods and ability to maintains focus on the continuous improvement of processes, products and services.
    Level Working Knowledge:

    • Defines the critical workflow for executing key processes.
    • Identifies process problems that limit performance.
    • Implements methods for improving and establishing controls for critical processes.
    • Surfaces systemic problems to be addressed at the organizational level.

    Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
    Level Working Knowledge:

    • Assists in detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements.
    • Obtains information from stakeholders during the planning stage of a project.
    • Produces standard project status reports.

    Six Sigma Methodology: Knowledge of the concepts of six sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control ) methodology; ability to use the methodology to improve the manufacturing processes and control the improvements by eliminating root causes.
    Level Working Experience:

    • Guides on the choice and use of appropriate tools to measure existing performance.
    • Estimates the root cause of quality or service related problems.
    • Resolves various obstacles and problems in performance improvement.
    • Facilitates changes to improve performance in relation to costs or quality of products and services.

    Consideration for Top Candidates:

  • Previous experience supporting and managing projects in Finance, Credit and operations.
  • Strong ability to not only lead a project and a group of SMEs but also actively participate in project work and support in the requirements for delivery/Implementation.
  • 6 Sigma background
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP)

    Salary: £60,433 - £78,563
    Contract: Permanent.
    Hours: Full time 37.5 hours, hybrid working with 3 days a week in the office
