Job summary

London Borough of Newham is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Strategy to lead a high performing team within the Strategy, Policy and Communications Department. You will drive long-term priorities, align corporate priorities and performance frameworks, and work with elected Members, partners and residents to deliver meaningful improvements.

Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in leading corporate strategy and policy development.
  • Proven track record delivering organisational transformation and service improvement.
  • Strong understanding of local government operations, governance and political landscape.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills to translate data into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders.
