Job summary

PerkinElmer, Inc. seeks a Strategic Product Manager - TEA to own the product segment’s strategy, roadmap and commercial positioning. You will lead pricing, NPI business cases and P&L with a small team, while partnering with R&D to sustain technical leadership.

The role is hybrid, split between home and offices in High Wycombe, UK. You will drive long-term portfolio strategy, customer insights, market intelligence, and cross-functional governance to deliver growth and durable differentiation in

Qualifications

10-15+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or commercial leadership in analytical instrumentation or scientific equipment.
Demonstrated experience owning a product roadmap and leading NPI programmes through full commercialisation.
Direct technical knowledge of relevant product segment (e.g., atomic spectroscopy, chromatography, materials characterisation).
Strong financial acumen - experience managing product line P&L, building NPI business cases, and setting pricing strategy.
Proven track record of leading and developing small product management teams.
Ability to travel 25-30% for customer visits, conferences, and internal reviews.
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.

Responsibilities

Define and own the 3-5 year product roadmap for the assigned product segment across instruments, consumables, and software.
Develop rigorous NPI business cases with market sizing, competitive positioning, and financial modelling.
Own gate progression for NPIs from concept through commercial launch approval.
Translate Market Requirements Documents into product requirements and R&D briefs.
Drive long-term technology roadmap with R&D leadership for competitive advantage.
Build VOC programme with 20 in-depth customer conversations per year.
Collaborate with segment managers to align market requirements and pricing research.
Monitor competitive landscape and translate intelligence into roadmap responses.
Own global base pricing strategy and monitor portfolio profitability against targets.
