Job summary

Butler Ross is seeking a Head of Purchasing & Supply Planning to lead the procurement and supply planning function for an ambient foods importer and distributor. Qualifications

• Significant senior procurement or supply-chain experience in food or FMCG sectors.
• Proven leadership of a procurement or supply-planning team with coaching experience.
• Strong commercial and negotiation capability across strategic sourcing and contracting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver procurement and supply-planning strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Lead the procurement team, set objectives, and monitor performance.
• Oversee sourcing, supplier selection, and contracting for key categories.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct senior reviews with action plans.
• Oversee supply risk, continuity, and contingency planning across portfolio.
• Set stock policies, inventory controls, and review service levels and stock cover.
• Collaborate with Commercial on tenders, pricing inputs, and product changes.
• Ensure responsible sourcing, food safety, legality and sustainability compliance.
