Job summary

SF Partners in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Head of Procurement to elevate a capable, largely self-taught buying operation. The role combines strategic sourcing, imports and supplier performance with leadership of a small team to improve planning, processes and commercial terms.

You will build direct supplier networks, drive cost and range strategies, and oversee S&OP, inventory health and KPI delivery across UK locations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in buying or procurement leadership.
• Direct sourcing from overseas manufacturers, including landed cost, freight and duty.
• Supplier development against a specification: quality systems, factory audits, and taking a product through testing or certification with a manufacturer.
• Evidence of delivery, with numbers: savings achieved, processes implemented, suppliers developed.
• Has led and developed buyers, ideally including taking over a team from the person who built it.
• Strong track record in demand and supply planning; confident with ERP replenishment settings, spend analysis and Excel.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; able to challenge constructively and build consensus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of three: Category Manager, Buyer/SC Associate and Buyer; drive planning, process improvement and supplier development.
• Analyse spend by category and supplier; write plans covering sourcing, price, range and risk.
• Build manufacturing partners for the pipe support system; ensure testing and certification.
• Own monthly S&OP cycle; forecast demand at SKU and channel levels; set quantities and safety stocks.
• Segment suppliers by value and risk; introduce scorecards and quarterly reviews.
• Oversee inbound imports, compliance and cost timing; manage lead times and supplier delivery reliability.
• Maintain master data in OrderWise; develop reports and dashboards with BI.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance and Operations; SLT contributor; push for required resources.
