Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc is seeking a Procurement Lead to manage procurement activities, support two administrators, and ensure on-time customer orders. You will collaborate with Logistics, Sales and Engineering, driving procurement excellence and supplier performance.

You will optimise processes, manage supplier relationships and contribute to continuous improvement across the supply chain, while adhering to health and safety policies and delivering measurable value.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' purchasing experience including quality and operational exposure.
• Must be highly motivated with a keen interest in procurement/buying.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and procedures, and be financially and commercially aware.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
• A Level or equivalent with GCSE Maths/English grade B.
• Good understanding of procurement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support two procurement administrators to deliver procurement excellence.
• Create purchase orders using Latis MRP system for standard sales.
• Liaise with Logistics, Sales Administration, Engineering Scheduling, and 3PL to meet customer orders on time.
• Follow through with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and monitor conformance.
• Identify disruptions to supply and mitigate risk by sourcing alternatives.
• Coordinate with 3PL for goods receipting and provide on-site assistance when required.
• Coordinate direct-to-site deliveries with Logistics.
• Update shared sales backlog with PO information daily for stakeholders.
• Ensure suppliers adhere to terms and conditions.
• Drive efficiency in procurement and negotiate favourable prices.
• Assist in creating new suppliers in Latis.
• Support development of supply chain capabilities.
• Resolve invoice queries with Accounts Payable.
• Collate quality/compliance information like packaging data and supplier evaluations.
• Comply with Health and Safety policies and promote safety awareness.
• Build strong supplier/logistics/engineering relationships.
• Demonstrate passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Be adaptable to industry changes.
