Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Procurement Lead for the Birmingham hybrid office to manage procurement activities, drive supplier relationships, and optimise supply chain efficiency. The role oversees two procurement administrators and collaborates with logistics, sales, and engineering teams to ensure on-time order fulfilment.

The candidate will require strong negotiation, analytical skills, and a proven purchasing background, with knowledge of ERP systems such as Latis MRP and JD Edwards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing role with quality and operational exposure.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, policies, procedures, and commercial awareness.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade B or better; good understanding of procurement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support two procurement administrators to deliver procurement excellence.
• Create purchase orders using Latis MRP system for standard sales.
• Liaise with Logistics, Sales Admin, Engineering Scheduling and 3PL to meet orders.
• Follow through with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and monitor conformance.
• Identify supply disruptions and mitigate risk by seeking alternatives.
• Coordinate with 3PL to ensure smooth goods receipting and on-site support.
• Update shared backlog reports daily with PO information.
• Ensure suppliers comply with terms and conditions.
• Drive procurement efficiency and negotiate favourable prices.
• Assist in developing our supply chain capabilities.
• Resolve invoice queries with Accounts Payable and provide documentation.
