Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is recruiting a Technical Buyer for Applied Science to drive end-to-end procurement for high‑complexity engineering programmes. You will translate technical requirements into sourcing activity, manage supplier delivery, and ensure disciplined purchasing processes.

The role interfaces with engineering, design, programme management and quality to align procurement with milestones, risk management and cost outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical purchasing or supply chain in high-complexity engineering environments.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, BOMs and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness and supplier negotiation against tight timelines.
• Detail‑oriented with disciplined requisition and order governance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project.
• Confident communicator across engineering, programme management and quality teams.
• Proactive in identifying risks and recovery actions.
• Experience using SAP procurement functions or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Procure direct components, assemblies, tooling and services for Applied Science.
• Review drawings, BOMs, specs to ensure PO accuracy and value.
• Negotiate cost, lead time, terms with suppliers.
• Coordinate with engineering, design, programme management, quality and finance.
• Expedite orders, manage delivery risks, and update SAP trackers.
• Support supplier selection, onboarding and performance management.
• Maintain process discipline in requisitions and POs.
• Identify supply chain risks and recovery actions early.
• Build relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
• Work with teams to reduce lead times and cut costs.
