Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in technical purchasing within a low-volume, high-complexity engineering environment.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, BOM structures, specifications and manufacturing processes.
• Strong commercial awareness with negotiation capability for demanding programme timelines.
• Detail-focused with a process-led approach to requisitions and purchase orders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Confident communicator across engineering, programme management, quality and finance.
• Experience using SAP procurement functions or equivalent ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Procure direct components, tooling and project-critical consumables for Applied Science.
• Review drawings, BOMs and specs to ensure accurate POs.
• Negotiate cost, lead times and terms with suppliers.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, programme management, and quality teams.
• Expedite open POs and manage delivery risks with SAP trackers.
• Support supplier selection, onboarding and performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Purchasing, Quality and Finance procedures.
• Identify supply chain risks and propose recovery actions.
• Build strong relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
