Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Procurement Assistant to provide an efficient, cost-effective procurement service, processing requisitions accurately and seeking better rates through competitive exercises as directed by the Operational Purchasing Manager. The role emphasises value, supplier management, and compliance within NHS procurement policies.

The post notes visa sponsorship limitations, highlighting a £41,700 minimum salary threshold for the UK Skilled Worker route.

Qualifications

• Educated to A Level or equivalent including grades at C or above, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of NHS procurement policies and procedures.
• Experience in a busy environment, preferably within a Public Sector environment.
• Experience with electronic ordering and e-procurement systems.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate pricing and process requisitions for goods, services and maintenance.
• Source suppliers with assistance from the Operational Purchasing Manager.
• Write complete, accurate specifications for quotations up to £50,000.
• Issue and evaluate quotations for goods/services up to £50,000 and recommend awards.
• Ensure contracts and pricing documents are communicated to the Operational Purchasing Manager and manage suppliers within the GHX catalogue.
• Contribute to meeting the Procurement Department savings target.
• Attend meetings with Trust Stakeholders and Suppliers as required.
• Undertake other relevant procurement tasks as required.
