Job summary

Reed Talent Solutions is hiring a Press Officer for MaPS in Bedford. You will manage press office processes, draft media notices and pitches, and support spokespeople with clear briefings for media engagements.

The role requires strong writing, news judgement and the ability to explain complex financial topics simply. Collaboration across teams and a proactive, organised approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a communications, media relations or press office role (ideally 2+ years).
• Experience drafting press materials, pitching stories and responding to journalist enquiries.
• Experience preparing briefing materials and supporting spokespeople ahead of media opportunities.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with journalists and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of national, regional, broadcast and digital media channels.

Responsibilities

• Manage core press office processes such as inbox, media enquiries and lists.
• Draft press notices and media pitches to promote MoneyHelper tools and services.
• Brief and support MaPS spokespeople for media engagements with clear materials.
• Build relationships with journalists and media outlets across channels.
• Monitor the news agenda to identify opportunities or risks for MaPS and MoneyHelper.
• Collaborate with operations, policy, marketing and social media teams on external comms.
• Support flexible duties across the press office as needed.
