Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Portfolio Execution Director for the National Grid Account to lead the UK transmission portfolio from our Stafford base. This senior role requires coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning across multiple projects, ensuring delivery against customer commitments and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading portfolios or multiple major projects in complex engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage transmission or large-scale EPC projects.
• Experience across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Strong customer-facing leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Experience managing portfolio risks, dependencies and resources.
• Technical and commercial understanding to translate requirements into execution strategies.
• Experience with major contractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Set and lead the execution strategy across the National Grid portfolio.
• Build relationships with National Grid stakeholders and escalate delivery matters.
• Drive portfolio governance with visibility of performance, risks and priorities.
• Align cross-functional teams across project management, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, commercial.
• Identify and remove systemic delivery barriers and resource constraints.
• Strengthen execution capability by improving project methodologies.
• Challenge and support project leadership when recovery plans require intervention.
• Develop portfolio-level approaches to engineering, construction, suppliers and capacity.
• Create organizational synergy to reuse capability and learnings.
• Promote continuous improvement using lessons learned.
