Job summary

MM Flowers Ltd is seeking a Senior Plants Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and procurement strategy for plants and bulbs, building strong grower partnerships to ensure quality, availability and value for customers.

This senior role combines strategic procurement with hands-on supplier management; you will collaborate with Commercial, NPD, Technical, Planning, Operations and Supply Chain to turn forecasts into actionable sourcing and growing plans, supporting seasonal peaks.

Qualifications

• Significant procurement or buying experience within plants or horticulture.
• Experience sourcing for major grocery or retail customers.
• Strong negotiation skills with pricing, volumes and supply agreements.
• Ability to translate forecasts into practical procurement plans.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies for plants and bulbs with short, medium and long-term plans.
• Build relationships with growers and suppliers across UK, Europe and international regions.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, volumes and terms.
• Translate forecasts into supplier commitments and product availability.
• Monitor supply risks and develop contingency plans.
• Collaborate with NPD and Commercial teams on new growers and varieties.
• Improve supplier performance and product quality with Technical team.
• Monitor procurement performance across cost, availability, quality, waste and service.
