Job summary

Malvern Hills District Council is recruiting two Planning Officers to join a growing shared planning service. You will handle a varied caseload of planning applications, attend Planning Committee meetings and site visits, and contribute to shaping growth across Malvern Hills and Wychavon.

This role offers professional development opportunities in an award-winning team. The post is based at either the Malvern Council House or Pershore Civic Centre, 37 hours per week, permanent, with salary

Qualifications

• Experience with minor and other category planning applications and householder applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of planning law and practice.
• Recognised town planning qualification or substantial planning experience.
• Full MRTPI membership or willingness to work towards it.
• Good computer literacy and ability to manage a caseload.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular Planning Committee meetings and undertake site visits.
• Manage a caseload of planning applications across the district.
• Contribute to professional development within the service.
