Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a competent Senior Planning Officer to join a permanent full-time team. The post requires handling significant planning applications, working across Hereford city and surrounding towns, and contributing to the development of a new Local Plan.

You'll operate within an area team, manage multiple case streams to tight deadlines, and bring strong knowledge of planning policy and current legislation.

Qualifications

• Understanding the role of a Senior Planning Officer in a local planning authority.
• Strong knowledge of planning policy, regulatory issues and current legislation.
• Ability to work on multiple work streams to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Based in one of the area teams; handle significant planning applications and related casework.
• Work on both Hereford city and surrounding towns and villages.
• Contribute to shaping sustainable planning outcomes and the new Local Plan.
