Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Contract Relationship Manager to own day-to-day contract management for OT suppliers supporting renewals and maintenance on the Strategic Road Network. The role is based from UK offices with a balance of remote and office-based work.

You will lead governance meetings, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement, while coordinating with Demand Management to align supplier capacity with programme needs and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Contract and supplier management experience in a regulated/public sector or complex infrastructure environment.
• Proven delivery of supplier performance management using KPIs, governance, and corrective action plans.
• Experience aligning demand forecasts with supplier capacity, manufacturing lead times, delivery plans and financial budgets.
• Understanding of Operational Technology scheme delivery considerations i.e. service continuity, safety, change control (desirable).
• Confident drafting variations and formal supplier communications; strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract management across the lifecycle, ensuring supplier compliance with terms, policies, and governance.
• Plan, chair and document monthly supplier governance meetings with actions, decisions, risks, and delivery plans.
• Monitor contractual KPIs and service performance, report trends, and implement improvement plans; apply remedies or service credits as needed.
• Coordinate with Demand Management to translate demand signals into supplier forecasts, capacity and lead-time planning.
• Drive continuous improvement and supplier development, tracking benefits and feeding lessons into future strategy.
