Job summary

Broadacres Housing Association seeks a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Northallerton, operating on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on high-quality financial information, assurance and advisory support to colleagues to maximise value for customers and communities.

You'll lead budget processes, monthly management accounts, regulatory returns, and financial controls, working with service managers to translate insight into action and support Broadacres' strategic ambitions in

Qualifications

• AAT fully qualified.
• Experience in a similar finance role, including service costing, budgeting and forecasting, business planning, monthly management accounts and supporting completion of statutory accounts.
• Experience preparing VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
• Proven experience using financial systems and Microsoft Office.
• Sound knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial control, statutory accounts and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reliable monthly management accounts, analysis and reports, highlighting trends, risks, opportunities, potential losses and corrective action.
• Lead the preparation, consolidation, monitoring and reporting of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with financial plan assumptions and corporate priorities.
• Coordinate the finance team's preparation of annual statutory accounts and supporting working papers.
• Monitor Group cash flow, loans, investments, funding agreements and covenant compliance, escalating emerging risks promptly.
• Prepare accurate and timely Board, regulatory, statutory, funder, VAT and Corporation Tax information and returns.
• Undertake scenario modelling, stress testing and costing of new initiatives to support business planning, service viability and effective use of resources.
• Build strong business-partnering relationships, helping managers understand performance, own their budgets and take timely recovery action.
• Develop benchmarking, costing and performance information that strengthens value for money and supports sound investment choices.
