Job summary

Idle CE Primary School is seeking an exceptional leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, SEND and Safeguarding, starting January 2027 (or sooner). This non-class-based leadership role focuses on strategic and operational leadership across inclusion, SEND and safeguarding.

You will shape the school's vision, champion vulnerable pupils, lead SEND provision, act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and work with families and external agencies to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership experience in a primary school setting.
• Experience leading SEND provision, safeguarding and inclusion.
• Holds NASENCO or willing to undertake the qualification.
• Solid understanding of SEND legislation, safeguarding and inclusion.
• Experience working with families and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead inclusion, safeguarding and SEND across the school.
• Play a central role in the Senior Leadership Team and school improvement.
• Develop and implement a vision for inclusion and adaptive teaching.
• Collaborate with families and external agencies to support pupils.
• Lead The Hub and promote inclusive practice across the school.
