Job summary

Summerswood Primary School is seeking an exceptional Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team. This role is created to champion inclusion at the heart of our school as we pursue continued improvement and growth.

You will provide strategic leadership for inclusion, lead provision for pupils with SEND, fulfil SENCo responsibilities, and promote inclusive teaching across all classrooms.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in leading SEND and inclusion within a primary setting
• Inspirational leader able to motivate and support colleagues at all levels
• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching, adaptive practice, and SEND Code of Practice
• Highly organized with ability to manage statutory processes
• Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Commitment to high expectations and equity for all

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for inclusion across the school
• Lead and develop provision for pupils with SEND and vulnerable learners
• Fulfil SENCo responsibilities to a high standard
• Champion high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning across all classrooms
• Inspire and develop staff to share responsibility for inclusion
• Collaborate with families, governors and external agencies to secure optimal outcomes for pupils
• Contribute to driving the School Improvement Plan with embedded inclusive practice

Summerswood Primary School is seeking to appoint an exceptional Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team. About the Role

As Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership for inclusion across the school
• Lead and develop outstanding provision for pupils with SEND and vulnerable learners
• Fulfil the role of SENCo, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met to a high standard
• Champion high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning across all classrooms
• Inspire and develop staff, fostering a culture where inclusion is everyone’s responsibility
• Work closely with families, governors, and external agencies to secure the very best outcomes for pupils

You will play a key role in driving our School Improvement Plan, ensuring that inclusive practice is embedded in everything we do.
