Job summary

Slough Borough Council is seeking a Strategic Lead for Inclusion to drive a bold vision for inclusive education and SEND across Slough. You will lead cross‑agency collaboration with schools, health, social care and community partners to ensure timely, right‑sized support for every child.

This high‑impact leadership role requires turning strategy into action, delivering measurable outcomes, and improving life chances for children and families in Slough.

Job description

Directorate: Children’s Services

Pay Level: Grade 8 - £49,868 to £55,273 fully inclusive of Local Weighting Allowance

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Observatory House/ Slough Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office)

DBS requirement: Enhanced

What you’ll be doing:

Are you ready to lead real change for children, young people and families across Slough? As Strategic Lead for Inclusion, you will shape and drive a bold vision for inclusive education and SEND, making sure every child has the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of Slough’s SEND improvement journey. You will work with schools, families, health, social care and community partners to strengthen inclusive practice, improve early intervention and help rebuild trust in services that matter deeply to local residents.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1 April, subject to six months’ service and satisfactory performance, until the maximum spinal column point is reached.
