Job summary

Cobalt Consulting (UK) Ltd in Birmingham seeks a senior planner to lead a portfolio of strategic land projects, advising landowners, developers and promoters on unlocking development opportunities through the planning system.

You’ll be MRTPI qualified with strong experience in strategic land, planning or development to manage projects, clients and multidisciplinary teams, with mentoring of junior planners and a clear path toward senior leadership.

Qualifications

• MRTPI qualified with strong experience in strategic land, planning or development.
• Good understanding of Local Plans, site promotion and development strategy.
• Ability to manage projects and clients independently.
• Progression opportunities towards senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the promotion of strategic sites through Local Plans and site allocation processes.
• Prepare representations, call for sites submissions and planning strategies.
• Undertake site appraisals and identify new development opportunities.
• Manage strategic residential, mixed-use and employment projects.
• Advise landowners and developers on land promotion strategies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Manage key client relationships and support business development.
• Mentor junior planners and contribute to team growth.
