Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority is seeking a Senior L&D Specialist to lead learning and capability development. You will set professional standards, oversee a portfolio of programmes and ensure learning investment delivers measurable organisational value.

You’ll lead the team, budget and drive continuous improvement of learning services. You’ll build strategic relationships with professional bodies, providers and academic partners while guiding learning strategy across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education and a professional qualification in L&D or HR (CIPD Level 7).
• Extensive experience leading an L&D function in a complex org.
• Strong track record delivering learning strategies within time, cost and quality targets.
• Expert knowledge of learning methodologies, digital learning, accessibility and legislation.
• Experience managing teams, budgets, resources and senior stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an organisation-wide learning and capability strategy.
• Translate future capability requirements into a prioritised portfolio of learning activities.
• Identify capability risks and advise senior leaders on investment priorities.
• Establish operating model, governance and quality assurance for learning.
• Ensure learning activity meets requirements including accessibility and funding.
• Manage learning portfolio, budget and resources, monitoring value and ROI.
• Approve learning solutions and external partnerships.
• Represent L&D at senior governance forums and influence workforce decisions.
• Lead and develop the L&D team and improve learning services quality.
