Job summary

Inspired Search & Selection is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious professional membership organisation for a Journals Manager in London. This senior, part-time role focuses on strategy, governance and performance across a portfolio of leading academic journals.

You’ll work closely with senior editors, authors and publishing partners, shaping publishing strategy, recruitment and governance while driving audience engagement and delivering high-impact results in a flexible, hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Strong experience within academic or scholarly journal publishing.
• Excellent understanding of peer review and journal publishing processes.
• Experience of editor recruitment and working with editorial boards.
• Good knowledge of journal policies and governance.
• Outstanding stakeholder and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Focus on strategy, relationships, governance and performance; administrative duties outsourced.
• Act as the link between editorial boards, authors, external publisher and a virtual editorial office.
• Monitor journal performance and contribute to publishing strategy.
• Support editorial recruitment and succession planning.
• Oversee policies and governance and help shape marketing and audience engagement.
