Job summary

W Talent is partnering with a well-established, multi-site organisation to appoint a Category Manager for indirect procurement. Hybrid role with on-site presence in the Midlands and opportunities to influence £1bn+ of spend.

You will develop sourcing and category strategies, manage end-to-end procurement activity from requirements to supplier handover, and work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver measurable commercial value.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering sourcing projects and structured tender processes.
• Experience developing tender documentation, specifications and KPIs.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
• Experience managing multiple procurement projects against tight deadlines.
• Understanding of contract negotiation and engagement with Legal teams.
• Experience using eProcurement and data analysis tools, including intermediate Excel.
• Experience contributing to strategic category plans.
• A proactive approach to identifying new procurement opportunities.
• CIPS Level 4, or actively working towards it, would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver sourcing and category strategies across allocated spend categories.
• Manage procurement activity from business requirements through tender, negotiation, implementation, and supplier handover.
• Collaborate with senior and operational colleagues across the organisation.
