Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group seeks a Principal Engineer or Associate Director specialising in HV cable design to lead technical delivery in the UK. You will drive design assurance, guide multidisciplinary teams, and shape the practice strategy across HVAC and HVDC cable systems for onshore, offshore and interconnector projects.

You will collaborate with clients, regulators and partners to ensure safe, compliant outcomes while growing the HV cable capability through mentorship and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in HV cable design and engineering for HVAC/HVDC projects.
• Experience with onshore and offshore applications.
• Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary delivery and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and design assurance for HV cable systems across projects.
• Lead and review cable studies, route assessment, thermal modelling, installation assessments.
• Chair design reviews, risk reviews and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Mentor HV cable engineers and contribute to practice strategy and growth.
