Job summary

Broxbourne Council invites an experienced HR professional to join the Human Resources team. The post focuses on providing generalist HR support and specialist Employee Relations for services and BEST, with responsibilities spanning recruitment, contracts, and advisory support to managers and staff.

Applicants should have HR experience in local authorities or fast-paced environments, be CIPD Level 5 qualified, and possess strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR generalist support and advice.
• Level 5 CIPD qualification.
• Excellent spoken and written English; GCSE Maths and English are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide generalist HR support and advice across the Council and BEST.
• Advise managers on terms and conditions and HR policies.
• Prepare employment contracts and update HR systems (iTrent).
• Coordinate in-house recruitment from approval to recruit and onboarding.
• Participate in employee meetings including grievance and disciplinary investigations and hearings.
• Support change management including restructures and TUPE.
