Job summary

Policy Expert Claims is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to own the people agenda for Claims Operations, supporting around 150 staff and 15 People Managers. You will provide commercially focused HR guidance, lead complex employee relations matters and drive changes to improve capability and engagement.

The role offers hands-on senior HR leadership with ownership of the business area, partnering with operational leadership to shape talent strategy, workforce planning and employee experience.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations processes.
• Experience managing complex employee relations cases.
• Experience advising and coaching managers on performance, disciplinary, grievance and absence matters.
• Experience supporting organisational change, restructuring and redundancy.

Responsibilities

• Build, develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders within Claims Operations, understanding priorities, risks and opportunities.
• Provide proactive HR advice to senior leaders and People Managers, challenging where appropriate.
• Act as senior HR contact for complex employee relations matters (discipline, grievance, capability, performance, conduct, absence).
• Manage complex employee relations cases from initial advice to conclusion with fair, consistent, legally compliant processes.
• Coach managers through investigations, formal meetings, performance management and difficult conversations.
• Support managers with long-term absence and ill-health capability cases.
• Provide HR advice on organisational change, restructuring and redundancy.
• Support workforce planning and identify future people and capability needs.
• Analyze people data (turnover, absence, engagement, ER trends) and recommend actions.
• Support initiatives to improve engagement, retention and employee experience.
