Strategic HR Lead – Engineering & Manufacturing

Job summary

Actemium UK, part of VINCI Energies, seeks an experienced HR Manager to support our growing UK business in Birmingham. This 30-hour-per-week role partners with senior leaders to shape people plans across multiple units and deliver high-quality HR support spanning employee relations, organisational development and talent management.

You will build a positive, inclusive culture, coach managers, drive change and ensure UK employment compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience at Senior HR Advisor/Generalist level in engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and practical ER case handling.
• Ability to partner with and influence senior stakeholders and managers.
• Experience supporting organisational change, workforce planning, talent management and employee engagement programmes.
• CIPD Level 5+ or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice to business leaders.
• Develop and deliver HR plans aligned with business objectives and people strategy.
• Guide employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and capability processes.
• Coach and support managers to build confidence in people management.
• Support organisational change, restructuring, and business transformation activities.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, talent management and workforce planning.
• Support performance management, reward, recognition and employee engagement initiatives.
• Monitor HR data and metrics and identify trends to improve effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and company standards.
• Collaborate with payroll, recruitment, L&D, and central support functions.
• Contribute to HR projects and group programmes.
• Promote safety, inclusion, wellbeing and respect across the business.
