Job summary

You will negotiate affordable housing provision with developers, Registered Providers and Homes England, analyse housing needs and coordinate with partners to maximise delivery, while working in a hybrid setup with remote work predominating.

Qualifications

• CIH or RICS or equivalent professional body qualification.
• Experience in housing strategy, policy development or affordable housing delivery.
• Knowledge of current housing, planning and regeneration policy.
• Experience of working with Registered Providers, developers or local authorities.
• Strong negotiation, influencing and partnership-working skills; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead on development, implementation and monitoring of housing strategies, policies and action plans.
• Undertake and commission housing needs research and analysis.
• Negotiate affordable housing provision on planning applications and Section 106 agreements.
• Work with Registered Providers, developers, Homes England and other partners to maximise affordable housing delivery.
• Support affordable housing and housing development projects.
• Monitor affordable housing completions, financial contributions and delivery outcomes.
• Prepare reports, briefings and presentations for senior managers and external partners.
